Welcome to The Pierians, Incorporated.

It is with deep gratitude and enthusiasm that I serve as the 18th National President of this distinguished organization, founded in 1958 and solidly anchored in the Fine Arts. For more than six decades, The Pierians, Incorporated, has been dedicated to promoting artistic excellence, celebrating creative expression, and encouraging the study and advancement of music, art, theatre, and dance, particularly within the African American experience.

As we move forward together, our focus is Back to Basics for the Arts, reaffirming our foundational commitment to artistic integrity, education, and community engagement, while honoring the legacy upon which this organization was built. At the same time, we look boldly toward an exciting and promising future for the arts, one that continues to expand, explore new creative territories, embrace innovation, and elevate artistic voices across generations and disciplines.

The Arts are evolving in powerful ways, through interdisciplinary collaboration, emerging technologies, new platforms for expression, and broader global influence. The Pierians remains steadfast in ensuring that our members, chapters, and communities are active participants and leaders in this evolution, shaping the future of the arts while remaining grounded in purpose, excellence, and cultural preservation.

Equally important is our collective responsibility to support the arts financially. Sustainable artistic growth requires intentional investment. Through scholarships, grants, and strategic partnerships, we ensure that aspiring artists have access to opportunities and encouragement to pursue their creative journeys.
